One of NALA’s most significant contributions has been the development of online platforms and e-learning tools that promote Plain Language principles. These platforms allow learners, educators, and organisations to access free resources, training, and practical guidance on writing and designing information that is easy to understand. NALA’s website, digital courses, and tailored support have helped thousands of people improve their literacy and, equally importantly, have helped institutions adopt Plain Language practices.
They also manage an eLearning website www.learnwithnala.ie where people can have their skills assessed across a number of areas and then be prescribed an individual learning plan to improve these areas.
Technology has also allowed NALA to extend its reach beyond traditional classrooms. Through its Freephone support line, TV and radio campaigns, and blended learning options, it has connected with people in their homes and communities, showing how Plain Language can remove barriers to participation.
Congratulations NALA for being one of the finalists for the Cheryl Stephens Award.
